Diego area.
Sections of the i-5 in San Diego are also called/known as the "San
Diego Freeway", and the "John J Montgomery Freeway".
Driving north from San
Diego along the i-5, the city of Los Angeles is located approx. 121
miles to the north (estimated driving time from San Diego to Los
Angeles along the i-5 is approx. 1 hr. & 45 minutes)... however,
significant traffic congestion can add considerable delays to your
travel time.
Driving south from San Diego along the
i-5, the US/Mexico border is
located just approx. 16 miles south of downtown San Diego (estimated driving time from San Diego to the US/Mexico border along
the i-5 is only approx. 15 minutes).
